Samuel de Abreu Pessôa is a professor of the postgraduate course in economics at Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, head of the Economic Growth Center at the Brazilian Institute of Economics, and editor of the magazine “Pesquisa e Planejamento Economic.”  He is an expert in growth, fluctuations, and economic planning. He participated in the organization of the book “Economic Development – ​​A Brazilian Perspective” (Editora Campus, 2012).

Samuel holds a doctorate in economics from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in physics from the same university.
