David Wiley

David Wiley was the Chair of the Snohomish County Libertarian Party from 2019-2021 in Washington State and ran for the office of State Representative in 2020 and 2022. Achieving 33% of the vote against a 16 year Democrat incumbent. He actively serves on multiple committees for the Libertarian Party of Washington State. Quotes Thomas Paine “The World is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.” In 1999 attended the Hebrew University of Jerusalem to which his Dad responded: “If you want to see the world then why not join the military? To which he replied “Because I don’t want to see it at the end of a gun!” Since 2018 he has visited Ukraine multiple times and has assisted with voluntary humanitarian relief and defense responses to the current Russian offensive.

All of us have been doing it this year: talking about the war in Ukraine. Europe was the center of two global wars and now has its biggest war since World War II. A war that has disrupted global trade and caused spikes in fuel and food costs around the world. A war that has seen horrific atrocities. A war that has created 10 million refugees. A major modern war where the United States does not have direct military involvement. It is well known that non-aggression is a core principle of libertarianism and that we are decidedly anti-war.
