Robert Corn-Revere is an American First Amendment lawyer. He is currently a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP in Washington, D.C., and an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute. He has served as counsel in First Amendment litigation involving the Communications Decency Act, the Child Online Protection Act, internet content filtering in public libraries, public broadcasting regulations, and export controls on encryption software. Before joining Davis Wright Tremaine LLP in March 2003, Corn-Revere was a Hogan & Hartson LLP partner in Washington DC from 1994 to 2003. Also, he served as Chief Counsel to Interim Chairman James H. Quello of the FCC. Previously, from 1990 until 1993, he was Commissioner Quello’s Legal Adviser.

He has written extensively on First Amendment, internet, and communications-related issues and is a frequent speaker at professional conferences. Corn-Revere is co-author of a three-volume treatise titled Modern Communications Law, published by West Publishing Company. Also, he is editor and co-author of the book – Rationales & Rationalizations, published in 1997, and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Pike & Fischer’s Internet Law & Regulation.

Robert holds a Ph.D. in law from Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America, an M.A in mass communication/media studies from the University of Massachusetts, and a B.A in journalism and communications from Eastern Illinois University.
