Programming Blockchain

Jimmy Song is a programmer with 20 years of experience, the last four years in Bitcoin. He’s the editor of bitcointechtalk.com and blogs at medium.com. He has contributed to Bitcoin Core as well as other Bitcoin projects. He was the former VP of Engineering at Armory, a Bitcoin wallet.

For most of his career, Song worked as a software developer for a wide array of companies in different fields, including entertainment, healthcare, e-commerce, etc. In 2014, he joined Monetas, where he led the development of bitcoin integration with open transactions for almost a year. After managing the development of a business-friendly Bitcoin wallet for Armory Technologies, Song became the Principal Architect for Paxos creating blockchain solutions for institutional entities.

In January 2018, Song joined Blockchain Capital as a Venture Partner. In addition, he runs Programming Blockchain, a for-profit company that’s training students worldwide in blockchain programming and development techniques.

Also, he is the author and co-author of several books: The Little Bitcoin Book, Thank God for Bitcoin, Bitcoin and the American Dream.

Song attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in Mathematics in 1998. He also spent some time studying abroad at the Technical University of Budapest.
