He is also the author of articles and chapters on topics including federalism, Montesquieu and the history of liberal thought, and the rights of indigenous peoples and linguistic minorities. He sits on the editorial boards of The Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, and Publius: The Journal of Federalism. He is a member of the Board of Advisors and an Adjunct Fellow at the Niskanen Center, where he writes for the “Revitalizing Liberalism” project. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Brown University, an M.A. and Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton University, and an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School.
