Christopher Todd Meredith

Assistant Professor of Philosophy

Southwest Tennessee Community College

In addition to his duties as Assistant Professor at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, Dr. Meredith serves on the adjunct faculty at Mid-South Christian College.  His publications to date have treated the relationship of ethics to economics in Western intellectual history.  His research into the history of ideas has shown that the moral perspectives of Christian scholasticism and classical liberalism on the economic realm have been congruent.
Dr. Meredith earned a Ph.D. in philosophy from Tulane University in 2013.  Prior to that date, he earned M.A. degrees in both religion and humanities.  His career has always focused on teaching, and he has a fondness for the great books, having taught the Bible, Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Bernard of Clairvaux, Thomas Aquinas, Dante, Boccaccio, Chaucer, Malory, Machiavelli, Luther, Calvin, Shakespeare, Hobbes, Locke, Hume, Kant, Rousseau, Mill, and Sartre, among others.
