Edward Lopez is Professor of Economics and the BB&T Distinguished Professor of Capitalism at Western Carolina University. Previously, he was associate professor of economics at San Jose State University, program officer at the Institute for Humane Studies, scholar in residence at Liberty Fund. Professor Lopez served as president of the Association of Private Enterprise Education, 2010-2011. He received his doctorate in economics from George Mason University. Professor Lopez is the author of the book The Pursuit of Justice, published by the Independent Institute in 2010 and co-author of Madmen, Intellectuals, and Academic Scribblers, published in November 2012.
